Allies and Morrison: Paid undergraduate work placements available

Award winning architectural practice, Allies and Morrison are recruiting a number of paid undergraduate work placements, which will be for a minimum of 6 weeks.

These opportunities are linked to the development of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, so they are particularly keen to here from applicants who live and study in the Boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest.

The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust are working with the London Legacy Development Corporation to promote these opportunities far and wide.

Overview:

Students should enjoy architecture, be inquisitive and communicate well. You will have lots of energy and enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude. A team player with a passion and pride in what you do. You must be proficient in IT, interested in CAD and able to learn quickly.

Opportunities are available for:

  • Students going to University this year
  • 1st, 2nd or 3rd Year student of architecture
  • Or a recent Graduate

CRL Scholarship Award for First Year Undergraduate Students_Deadline 30th October 2018

1) Who is eligible for this scholarship?

The CRL scholarship is open to:

  • First-year undergraduates only
  • Students who have a confirmed place at a recognised UK academic institution for a degree in one of the following disciplines: engineering, construction, architecture
  • Home, EU and International students in the UK only

2) How will your application be assessed?

The CRL Scholarship rewards academic performance and applicants must display evidence of academic excellence and innovation.This will be demonstrated by:

  • Academic endorsements by two personal referees
  • Submission of an essay of no more than 1,000 words entitled ‘The Future Of The Construction Industry’

3) How will the awards be allocated?

  • Applicants will be judged by our internal panel and the 10 strongest entrants will be selected to receive the £1,000 cash prize.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by 1st December 2018.
  • All scholarship awards will be presented at a ceremony hosted by CRL at a date and venue to be confirmed closer to the time.

Exhibition of Pavilion Designs for the Imperial Festival 2017 by DS2.5

Design Studio [02] 05 have been invited to exhibit their Semester 1 design project ‘Indoor Weather’, a speculative pavilion design for the Imperial College Science Festival, at Imperial Festival 2017.  The festival takes place over the weekend of 6/7th May.

With the support from the Quintin Hogg Trust 125 Fund, our students have had the opportunity to work on the production of this exhibit of drawings and models and produce a catalogue for the Festival.
