Open Studio is an interactive project run by the School of Architecture + Cities at the University of Westminster to make its design, research and practice-based work available online while it is happening. The site acts as a real time teaching and learning environment in which the work of both students and staff is curated and documented – the work of its design studios, or its other teaching and research groups and workshops. Make your own ceramic patisseries in the UoW’s Fabrication Lab. Assemble your cake with clay 3D printed by robots, decorate using digitally fabricated cutters & stamps, & paint it with a glaze. Yours to keep forever! All proceeds will be donated to humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

The Textile Robotics A.R.T. 2018 summer workshop will investigate the ways in which industrial robotic arms can generate large scale structural textiles and automate a generative design process through robotic fabrication.
Using structural analysis and topology optimization, participants will explore different pattern combinations and learn how to translate them into robotic instructions.
The workshop will culminate in a 1:1 robotically fabricated installation that will be exhibited in FAB FEST ‘18.
