Scarcity and Creativity in the Built Environment: Research Fellow post available
The University of Westminster invites applications for a Research Fellow to work on an EU funded project-SCIBE (Scarcity and Creativity in the Built Environment).
The aim of research is to explore the relationship between scarcity and creativity of the built environment by investigating how conditions of scarcity might affect the creativity of the different actors involved in the production of architecture and urban design.
You will be responsible for conducting surveys, observations, literature reviews, organising meetings and preparing written reports/proposals to external bodies.
Candidates should have a good first degree and preferably a postgraduate qualification or doctorate in a relevant area, such as architecture, planning or social sciences. S/he also will have experience/knowledge of issues of sustainability in relation to the built environment.
Good IT and Interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to work on initiative and to multi-task. The role will involve liaising with colleagues at all levels as well as with working with local communities. You will also be expected to engage on a programme of continuous professional development (CPD).
This post is a fractional post for three years starting in June 2010.
